Ladies run Mini-Marathon for ChildAid

On the 18th September, 2005, over 7000 women participated in the Evening Echo's Womens Mini-Marathon fun run/walk through the streets of Cork. 2005 was the 23rd year of the race. It has been run by the AAI (Athletics Association of Ireland) and the Evening Echo every year since it started.

Munster's premier ladies road race, it is on the calendar of sports events for keen Irish sports women, and previous winners include Sonia O'Sullivan and Anne Keenan Buckley. More importantly it is also a major fun run/event for the ordinary ladies of Munster.

This year, no fewer than 42 women took part in this great day's event in support of ChildAid. This is the 3rd year in row that a group of ChildAid supporters have taken part in this event, and 2005 was the biggest turn out to date in support of ChildAid.

A big WELL DONE and THANK YOU goes out from ChildAid to all those who took part in our name.
