'Feile - Sherehe' DVD now available!

In June 2003 a group of Child Aid volunteers from Ireland travelled to Nairobi for the official opening ceremionies of new, permanent classrooms & kitchen facilites in the Kwa Njenga Primary School. This building project was funded by Child Aid and Ireland Aid (now Development Cooperation Ireland).

The volunteers, under the direction of Wexford based Street-Theatre Company, 'Bui-Bolg', worked with teachers and children at the school to create a Street Festival and Carnival in the slums surrounding Kwa Njenga.

Carol Fitzmaurice and Grainne O'Connell, third level students from the Institute of Technology Tallaght, filmed and directed a documentary film to record the event. What's more, it records the joy and pleasure on the faces of small children and captures their enthusuastic response to music, art, colour - and love.

The title 'Feile - Sherehe' reflects the Irish and Swahili words for 'Festival'
